Hebrew Letter Gimmel

Camels endure long trips through the desert carrying people and heavy loads.  Gimmel shows us that acts of lovingkindness towards others will nourish our souls as well and give us endurance on our journey.

How will you choose to walk?  I chose Micah 6:8 which says, “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (see also Prov. 31:8,9).

Jesus also gives us this command in Matthew 28:19,20, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The number three also speaks of the Messiah.  Jesus says in Matt.12:40, “For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”  (See also John 2:19,20)

Gimmel also alludes to the Holy Spirit.  Aleph (1) Father, Bet (2) Son, Gimmel (3). The Holy Spirit helps us - Romans 8:26, is the Spirit of Truth- John 15:26, and convicts us of sin- John 16:8, which all helps how we walk in this world.

Jesus is our Redeemer, our HaGoel in Hebrew, which is written in the letter. (see also Isaiah 48:17)
