Drawing closer to the heart of God.
Resting on His Word is the product of God's inspiration in Deborah Barce's life. She is a Messianic Jew who first surrendered her heart and dedicated her life to the Lord in 2000. Throughout her journey of Love with Yeshua (Jesus), Deborah's Jewish origins have inspired her to pursue the Hebraic context and origins of the living Word. The Lord has granted her exceptional strength and deep devotion to personal study. Deborah has over a decade of experience writing, teaching and leading children and adults. Her detail- oriented passion for truth yield inspiring and thorough studies that explore ancient history, social context, and theology to ultimately reveal the heart of God's intent to engage each of us in a personal relationship.
As an exceptionally talented and award-winning artist, Deborah was formally trained in ceramics at Greenwich House Pottery in NYC, obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Fine Art from Brooklyn College, and also completed an artist-in-residency in Woodstock, N.Y. She currently has a studio at home in Victoria,MN and creates pottery at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts. She pours biblical inspiration into mixed media, painting, polymer clay, woodwork, and pottery as additional vehicles to share the Word, teach others, and bring God's inspiration to other's homes and tables. Several of her paintings have been the subject of extensive studies and teachings.
Deborah currently lives in Victoria, MN with her wonderful husband, Tom and their two children, Julia, and Timothy. She juggles her time being a stay-at-home mom and artist/teacher. Before moving to Victoria, Deborah and her family spent 8 years in Houston, TX. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where she grew up in a contemporary Jewish neighborhood, amongst one of the most diverse communities in the world, which gives her a keen ability to draw attention to God's Word in a variety of ways.
