Normally when you see a map the information given shows the division of race, population, political affiliation, religion, and age.  I wondered, “how does God see us?”  It is called the “united” states, but I was witnessing so much division, offense, anger, and pride all around me.  Yes, indeed we are different in many ways, but we all share the same heart.  

I was reminded of a map I had gotten; it was a prayer guide for each state in the nation.  I believe the Lord then led me to Psalm 33. I found the piece was coming together with specific verses that addressed the message I believed the Lord wanted me to share through this piece of art.  The verses are as follows:

“Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!  For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.  The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.  The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations.  Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!.. he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds... Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.  For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.  Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.” (Psalm 33:22)

He sees souls who need to acknowledge the sovereignty of God, the hand of God, and the love of God in sending His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sin.  If He fashions our hearts and observes our deeds, then He alone is the answer.  

Christ not only conquered death on the cross, but our hearts as well.  That’s why there is a heartbeat embroidered throughout the piece with a gold strand symbolizing the heartbeat of Christ.  His desire is to bring healing, restoration, unity, hope and love to individual souls.

May we be a nation who trusts and looks to the Lord in all things.
