Jerusalem

Jerusalem is special and holy because God chose it to be the place where the death and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah would redeem the world. It is the place where Jesus will come back to when he returns. A real sanctuary in time with ties to eternity. Jerusalem "built as a city that is bound firmly together" (Psalm 122:3).  Jerusalem is bound firmly together with itself, implying that there are two (Revelation 21:10).

In 1967 Jerusalem was reunified under Israeli rule as a result of the Six-Day War. In the Jerusalem Talmud (Hagigah 2,6) Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi says Jerusalem is a city that “makes all Israel friends”.  Jerusalem has been a place of great bloody struggle since early pagan times and it is a place of great division and strife today. In the future when Yeshua (Jesus) comes back again it will be a place of friendship, unity, love and redemption, where all is restored.  The heavenly Jerusalem coming down.

God’s people are bound to each other (in relationship) and to the Lord by God’s eternal Word.  Hebrew alphabet is in honeycombs representing the sweetness of the Word. Psalm 119:103 says "How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!"  Israel is “a land flowing with milk and honey” (Ex.3:8) and the Messiah is the Living Word. .

We need to head the words in Psalm 122:6 "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you!" A place of completeness and wholeness because the Lord dwells there (Zech.8:3). Enjoy!
