This Little Light of Mine

We are called to reflect the light of Jesus to the world around us. Jesus,  the greater light, says in John 9:5, “While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.”

C.S. Lewis said, “Don’t shine so others can see you. Shine so that through you others can see Him.”

How do we shine? “Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.” Philippians 2:14-16

I was reminded of the song ”This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine!” A song with a timeless truth that has been sung throughout generations to anchor and revive the soul. The words of this song are inspired by Matthew 5:13-16.
