The Blessing House
The Blessing House
My dear friend, Gail Berger wrote a book called The Blessing House: Making Your Ordinary Home into a Space for Kingdom Ministry. I was struck by this quote from her journal, which gave me the vision for the front cover and a new piece of artwork.
“God has made a house of me,
A temple to his liking.
Where He is free to roam within
And rest in his abiding.”
This is the Blessing House, this is Gail!
When you cross the threshold you enter a sacred space, where you are welcomed. There is a sense of belonging, joy and God’s presence dwells there.
If you are a follower of Jesus, collectively and individually God says, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” 2Corinthians 6:16.
Through Jesus’ sacrificial death and victory over sin, He made the way for God to dwell with and in His people. While on earth, Jesus showed us the way to live as God’s temple.
Open your home, open your heart and allow God to use you to bless others.
This is an excerpt from the book.
“You have assignments on the earth. You can even think of where you live as an assignment from God. The purpose of this book is to help you explore your own life to see how God has developed you—where He’s taken you, what He’s taught you—and how you can use your space for ministry. It’s about self-discovery of how God has blessed you and what resources He has provided so you can bless others.
Your blessing house will be unique because no two people are the same. It’s not just what you have but who you are, where you’ve been, what you’ve seen, what you know. God sees our life as valuable, so nothing you’ve experienced is wasted.”
If you are interested in the book, it is available on Amazon.
