Hebrew Letter Nun
There are three letters associated with the “seed” offspring.
Bet- symbolic of the seed or children, especially a son of the household
Zayin- symbolic of the “planted” seed (of new life)
Nun- symbolic of the continued seed or inheritance
Galatians 3:16 (ESV) says, “Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ.”
In Aramaic (the language of the Talmud), the word Nun נוּן #5126 means “fish”, a symbol of activity and life. It’s first mentioned in Ex.33:11, in reference to Joshua, the “son of Nun”.
The letter Nun is shaped like one who is bent over in humility. The Nun has a crown as well. In some Torah Scrolls, eight Hebrew letters are given special adornment by attaching three “tagin” or decorative "crowns". Jesus, the humbled man crowned with glory. Matt. 21:5 says, “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’” (quoting Zech.9:9) See also Matt. 11:29 / Phil. 2:6-11)
The 14th letter is significant in that “there were 14 generations from Abraham to David, 14 from David to the exile to Babylon, and 14 from the exile to the Messiah.”
