Seeds: You Reap What You Sow
When we sow, we plant seeds. It is an agricultural process that involves the appropriate depth of the seed, the proper maintained distance from other seeds, and clean healthy soil.
To reap means to gather up a crop. Sowing is a metaphor for one’s actions and reaping are the results of those actions.
We are always sowing seeds, but we need to be careful (because we can be careless) of what and where we are sowing. What we sow often takes root and grows, and we want to look back and see good fruit.
God sees the potential inside every seed. When God says “be careful” it comes from a place of love and protection. What have we been sowing within ourselves, or to others?
One cannot continue to sow to the flesh, and sow to the Spirit in others. People might not see the seeds you are planting or watering in yourself, but it will be hard to hide the bad fruit. You may not want to reap what you have sown.
One of the scriptures for this piece comes from Galatians 6:7-10 “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
God had me make the seed very big in this piece because although seeds are small, they have a big impact. Let us all sow good seeds that will yield eternal growth for His kingdom. Enjoy!
